Simply going through the motions? Feeling "burned out" and exhausted? Struggling with weight despite doing all the right things? Feeling unmotivated, mentally dull or foggy? Waking up tired and unrefreshed rather than energized for the day? Feeling easily irritated, anxious or overwhelmed? Having hot flashes or night sweats? Hair loss? Do you wondered what happened to your libido? Or, why you now have aches and pains? Friend, you are not alone!
The delicate interplay between hormones and neurotransmitters (brain chemicals), what your eating, how your moving your body, your digestion, vitamin and mineral status, and your body's response to stress play an incredible role in this balance. By addressing the body as a whole, we can achieve optimal results and avoid the "band-aid" approach.
Hormones travel to all parts of the body playing the role of chemical messengers turning specific target tissues on or off. Because of the complexity of these interactions, a hormonal imbalance rarely stems from only one type of hormone. More often, the problem involves a series of hormones that are out of balance. A disruption in the balance of hormones produced by one gland or set of glands can cause other glands or systems to dysfunction. Before you know it, you’re feeling miserable on multiple fronts. I refer to this as the "domino effect."
"Feel good" chemicals. Optimal neurotransmitter balance is required to maintain proper health. Imbalances can cause the brain and the body to be over- or under-stimulated, producing neurological or psychological symptoms. The way in which most antidepressant, anti-anxiety and antipsychotic medications work are by attempting to shift neurotransmitters in the brain. When testing is not involved, prescribers often rely on their professional assessment and educated trial and error. This can become frustrating to both the patient and the provider.
Each woman is unique.
One dose does not fit all.
I founded Curated Rx to help women just like you. Just like me.
And the doctors who care for them. We are daughters. We are teachers. We are mothers. We are sisters. We are problem solvers.
We are friends. We are game changers. We are encouragers. We are strong. We are courageous. We are women.
We are incredible. Wonderfully made. But, we don't always feel incredible or wonderful.
Life happens. Stress encroaches. Our bodies go through changes that can wreak havoc on the beautifully designed framework we once knew.
I'm here to help you. There are brighter days ahead, my friend.
